Entry-level administrator roles are most at risk of artificial intelligence (AI) job replacement, says technology company Tech.co.
According to Tech.co, a recent Goldman Sachs report predicted that AI could replace the equivalent of 300 million full-time jobs.
This has left employees questioning the stability of their role against the power of artificial intelligence.
The report further found that over two-thirds of employees are even hiding the fact they use it from their bosses.
Tech.co said that administrative roles had been found to be most at-risk, given that AI tools such as ChatGPT can assist in writing summaries and managing spreadsheets.
ChatGPT is a language model designed to understand and generate human-like text. It is currently free for access and use.
It uses advanced algorithms to analyze and respond to user input, drawing on a vast database of information to provide answers to a wide range of questions and queries.
“Since the rise of ChatGPT, businesses have continued to discover new ways to leverage AI tools for fast and efficient problem solving,” said Tech.co.
A 2022 survey from Gartner survey found that 80% of executives in the private sector thought AI could be applied in “any direction”, suggesting no stone will be left unturned when it comes to automation, said the group.
For example, some project management software providers are working on plans to harness AI to streamline project management,
Through tools such as ClickUp’s new AI tool, users can get instant assistance in writing proposals and drafting emails.
“Up until the dawn of AI, this would have typically been a job carried out by employees. Now, this task can be completely automated,” said Tech.co.
The lead writer at Tech.co, Aaron Drapkin, said that if companies do not start upskilling their staff to keep up with new AI changes, they risk their business being left behind.
“Major changes aren’t going to happen overnight, but if you’re worried about your role being replaced by AI in the next few years, expanding your soft skills – and getting comfortable using the latest AI chatbots and other tools – is a good way to start,” he said.
Tech.co has identified the following top 10 roles that are most vulnerable to artificial intelligence job replacement:
